Privacy Policy

CodersUtility is a free, browser-based developer toolbox. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data (if any) we collect and how we use it.

The short version: we don't collect, store, or transmit any of the data you process with our tools. Everything runs entirely in your browser.

All tool processing — JSON formatting, encoding, hashing, password generation, etc. — happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. The text, code, or data you enter is never sent to our servers or any third party.

When you close or navigate away from a tool, your input is gone. We do not store it in any database or log file.

We use your browser's localStorage to save the following preferences on your device. None of this data is transmitted to our servers.

• Theme preference — remembers your appearance (Light or Dark) and accent colour between visits. Keys: cu-appearance, cu-accent
• Recent tools — stores the last 10 tools you opened so the Recents list in the sidebar stays useful. Each entry expires automatically after 30 days. Key: cu-recents
• Favourite tools — saves the tools you have starred so they appear in your Favourites list. Stored until you remove them or clear your browser data. Key: cu-favorites
• Cookie consent — records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies so we don't ask again. Key: cu-cookie-consent

All of the above stays on your device only. You can clear it at any time through your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data for codersutility.com.

CodersUtility uses Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage data — such as page views, session duration, and which tools are used most. This helps us understand how visitors use the site and improve the product. Google Analytics may use cookies to track sessions.

We do not use advertising trackers at this time. If we add Google AdSense in the future, this policy will be updated and a notice will be shown on the site.

We do not integrate any third-party services that collect user data at this time. The tools use only browser-native APIs (Web Crypto, URL, Intl, etc.).

CodersUtility is a developer tool intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Because no data is transmitted to our servers, there is no server-side data to protect or breach. Your inputs exist only in your browser's memory during your session.

We may update this policy if we add new features (such as accounts or analytics). Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
